Carlos Marquez-Sterling, "Gordo" Father to the author, he was a political activist and congressional candidate in the election of 1958. The photo to the right is from circa 1980.
Carlos Marquez-Sterling Sr., "El Viejo Marquez". Pictured to the right with one of his pet terriers. Grandfather to the author, he was an important political figure in Cuba.
